Controller / Operations & Administrative Leader (Integrator)

Full-Time | In-Office | Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000+ (flexible for the right candidate)


Position Overview

A growing, founder-led company is seeking a hands-on Controller / Operations & Administrative Leader to join its leadership team. This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, HR, and internal processes, while acting as a key integrator across the business.

The ideal candidate is a multi-functional operator who is comfortable owning finance while also stepping into HR, systems, and day-to-day operational execution. This individual thrives in smaller environments, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and brings a strong process and systems mindset.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Own all aspects of financial operations, including monthly close, reporting, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting
  • Manage AP/AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and sales/use tax
  • Develop and maintain job costing and project-level financial tracking
  • Establish and improve financial systems, controls, and processes
  • Partner with leadership to provide actionable financial insights and support decision-making

Human Resources

  • Lead HR functions, including onboarding, employee relations, and performance support
  • Administer payroll, benefits, and compliance programs
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations
  • Support a positive, accountable, and high-performing team environment

Operations & Administrative Leadership

  • Build and improve internal workflows, systems, and processes
  • Oversee day-to-day administrative operations
  • Serve as a cross-functional partner to leadership, helping align finance, people, and operations
  • Manage or support CRM, internal systems, and technology platforms
  • Contribute to operational scalability and organizational structure

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5-15+ years of experience in accounting, finance, and/or operations leadership
  • Background in small to mid-sized companies, with experience wearing multiple hats
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting fundamentals and financial management
  • Hands-on experience with HR, payroll, and employee operations
  • Demonstrated ability to build systems, improve processes, and drive efficiency
  • Comfortable working closely with leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability, and follow-through
  • Effective communicator and relationship builder across teams
